How can I help?

Here are some ways people have helped our group in the past:

  • Raise funds through Facebook donations for special events and birthdays, or donate through our Facebook page
  • Contribute in memory of a loved one
  • Forgo birthday gifts in lieu of donations to C22C
  • Hold a fundraiser and contribute the proceeds to C22C (people have held virtual 5Ks, bake sales, etc.);
  • Buy a copy of Raising the Goddess of Spring: A guide for parents raising children with rare chromosome disorders. All profits go to C22C. (Visit Amazon in your own country to purchase)
  • Volunteer to be a regional contact to offer support to new members;
  • Volunteer to organize and host a local or regional get together for members; Join our pool of Volunteers for special projects at our Facebook Volunteer Page: 
  • Spread awareness on Emanuel Syndrome Awareness Day – November 22 – and as often as you can!

Why contribute?

C22C does not receive any formal funding to carry out our activities. We rely solely on the support of our members. We use donations to:

  • Support our website which allows families to learn, connect, and share;
  • To help put on events such as our family gatherings, where we pay for meeting spaces and meals for members;
  • To pay for things like Zoom platforms to hold virtual events;
  • To help print brochures and booklets which we provide at no cost and pay for postage;
  • Help support other organizations that host events that are of interest to members through sponsorships (we have donated money to help host larger conferences and paid for organized childcare for parents to attend other conferences).

Our group does not have paid staff and is run solely by volunteers who are parents of individuals living with a chromosome 22 disorder, persons affected, or professionals working in the medical field.
